Discover our land,
an immense expanse of colours and flavours. Over 800 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and holm-oak woods in the extreme north of the Valle de Ocón (La Rioja). A land which provides a genuine, unique fruit…

Our project rests on the simple base of designing our activity with our surroundings in a way which respects the environment so as to sustain or improve its vitality and biodiversity. And by environment we mean not just the part related to nature, but also that related to the human beings who live and work in those surroundings.

This is why we always try to maintain a dialogue with our surroundings, so as to draw conclusions about what to do and how to do it.

Our estate is located 28 km (17 miles) south-east of Logroño (La Rioja), in the northern foothills of the Iberian Massif (Valle de Ocón).

The terrain is rugged, with altitudes ranging from 530 metres above sea level (1,740 feet) to 750 metres (2,460 feet). It occupies an area of 800 hectares (2,000 acres) of which currently 550 are woodland and mountainside (1,360 acres), 110 hectares are vineyards (272 acres), 15 hectares olive trees (37 acres) and the rest destined to growing cereals and almond trees.

Just as we try to make our vines speak the language of “wine”, we do the same with our olive trees and cereals, so that we can give you an idea in the form of oil and cereals about what each year has been like in this land of ours. Our arbequina variety olive grove is on a south-facing slope, mostly planted in 1980 so as to cultivate it in the traditional way. The fields of cereal crops occupy a large part of the slopes between the vines and the woods, that is, between an altitude of 550 and 650 metres.

These are situated on the highest part in the middle of the estate, at an altitude of between 600 and 750 metres. It is an indigenous wood with a mixture of species from mountain and Mediterranean environments. The dominant species are holm-oaks, Pyrenean oak, strawberry tree, rockrose, rosemary, thyme and lavender. Among the fauna, red deer, roe deer, hares, wildcats, genets and wild boar abound. Also, birds such as the golden eagle, short-toed eagle, kestrel and thrush are common.
